Career colleges are basically privately run institutes that enable the students to achieve their goals. It also includes schools and colleges in and within the state that enables the students to opt for the best colleges and achieve their aspired goals. I was one such student and today I am here to share some major information with you.

I had always been keen towards career oriented education and career colleges and thus have to go for extensive research for the same. The research really helped me in achieving my career goal. Career colleges are instrumental in providing career-oriented programs, trades and apprenticeships with university transfer programs. These programs are more or less are certification and diploma programs that train and polish the student with knowledge and skills. These programs are short term and can last for 3 to 23 months. Career Colleges are in the form of vocational schools, technical schools, career colleges, etc and cover a wide range of programs like accounting, allied health, applied arts, culinary and hospitality management, computers and information technology, emergency medicine, engineering technology, interior design, law enforcement administration, medical technologies, office administration, radio and television broadcasting, etc. Career Colleges equip the students with internships, and practical knowledge that help out the students to gain experience and form their strong base in their career.

In order to get through the career colleges you need to prepare yourself with certain things. As per my experience I would provide you with three simple steps for it.

  1. Read and study independently: The first and basic step indicates that the student needs to study the course content. In hand with the course content you are expected to read and study the information relating to your program, it helps in enhancing your knowledge and vocabulary. It prepares you for your entrance tests and interviews too.
  2. Active participation in extracurricular activities: The more are you active in the extracurricular activities in your school/college, the more impact you create on the career college admissions committee. It may depict certain personal traits of the students and thus work positively on his part.
  3. Prove your work ethics: If you have any kind of work experience in the field your choosing your career college, it works as trump card for you. This is shows the dedication of the student towards the program he has selected and thus acts effectively on the admissions committee.

Career Colleges are really beneficial as it provides students with self-paced education, flexible schedules with full-time, part-time and online programs often available, plus small classes, personalized attention and job placement help. Career Colleges in Florida are thus gaining high paced demand in the recent years and seem to have a great deal of scope in the future.

79237179When we speak about Learning, it is like grasping certain things when we learn it for first time. There are many learning strategies in which a person can make his way of learning easy. Well, according Henri Holec Learner Autonomy is defined as “ability to take charge of one’s own learning”. It is said that everything, each action is an art and so the Art of Learner Autonomy is an art which is beautifully thought in Florida College. Florida Colleges are very familiar with this section of learning as it increases the student’s confidence level.

Learner Autonomy is very important as it becomes a need whenever a person has to learn something new in his life and achieve something great. In Leaner Autonomy one should have intrisic motivation and self interest. This kind of learning was used by me in Florida College. By consuming this kind of learning in me I have developed the skills of self management in me. Well, this kind of learning is very much proficient and it is effective too. I have received positive response with the Autonomous Learning. It is like you learn something in the four walls of the classroom and the same thing is utilized as solution to solve a problem outside the classroom environment. One more plus point that one can get through this is the learner can become good guesser.

In Florida Colleges the Teacher used to make good use from the student of the Autonomous Learning. The teacher targets the aim and use the aim as a subject to the target audience. Here I would like to mention one of the instances that I had experienced. In the class we had a language subject in which there was a difficult language subject which was very tough to understand. My Professor started using the subject throughout the class which developed interest and also made it easy to learn. She used to make exercises which later on we used to solve as a quiz game. It really helped me and developed my skills.

I could see good results in my evaluation and as an individual learner I was progressing well. In this process or learning style a teacher plays very important role. Learner Autonomy is very important and at the same time it is very much in demand. The Autonomous Learning makes the students learning skills more powerful and Yes! They do reach up to their goals. All you should do is take the initiative and keep trying at your best…
